The Turman Fort

I think I speak for many people when I say this winter feels like it is never going to end. I am suffering an extreme case of cabin fever and I am losing hope. So yesterday when Cody came home I told him we were going to build a fort. Yes I do realize I'm 27 years old but it sounded fun. I remember so many times my mom would help me & my friends build forts all over the house and it brought alot of excitement when we were stuck inside. So Cody & I gathered all the blankets we could find and turned our living room into a giant fort. At first Olivia just looked at us like we were crazy (shock I know), but then she realized what we were doing and she started giggling and having fun. We read some stories and hung out in there for awhile and it really brought me some much needed sunshine.
Not the best picture I realize but this is our fort. I think it's pretty cool.
How about Cody's shirt....sexy huh!?

Olivia's Head Bands

Olivia has a fascination with putting things in her hair or on her head. She is now tall enough to reach into the bathroom drawers where I keep her hair accessories. So usually a couple thousand times a day she'll help herself to a headband or bow. She'll slide it on her head and come out and smile at me and say, "Cute." It is very cute but sometimes annoying if I have just finished doing her hair. I can tell that she is going to be very independent. I wonder who she gets that from??

My 18 Month Old

Well my baby girl turned 18 months old today. Everyone warned me that the first year would go fast but nobody told me that the second year would go even faster. I can't believe how much she is changing and growing everyday. The past few weeks I've noticed allot of change in her looks. She is losing that toddler look and turning into a little girl. I know she is only 18 months but I'll forever look at her and remember the day she was born. I wish I could just keep her at this fun age but I know that's not realistic at all. Besides I know that part of being a good parent is learning how to let go. But I still have awhile until I have to do that...................Right????

Interesting Facts About Olivia:

Favorite Foods: Cheese & Fruit

Favorite Pass Time: Playing with babies, reading book (to the babies), doing her hair (especially after her mom has done it), dancing

Commonly Used Words: By!, No!, Don't!, Bazil, Beebie (baby), Elbo (Elmo), Cheese, Hey You

Snow Day

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like it has been the longest winter ever. Today it was snowing all morning (again) and I was definitely having major cabin fever. So after Olivia woke up from her nap we went and played in the snow for a bit. I can't believe how much snow we have this year it makes me wish I was little again. It use to be so fun to build snow caves and snow men. Now I find myself wishing the summer days would return so I can play outside more. But for awhile today I let myself enjoy the chilly winter air thanks to the excitement in Olivia's eyes.

Mother of the Year

A few days ago we started the "fun" project of painting our room. We actually just barely finished the closet which took longer then expected. I always feel excited about a project until I'm in the middle of it then I feel like giving up. So after painting yesterday I was cleaning paint brushes while boiling water for Olivia's mac'n'cheese. Confidently I was thinking, "thank goodness I'm so good at double tasking," when around the corner comes my daughter covered in a white substance. "What's that?!" I yelled to Cody. Instantly we realized she had managed to let herself into our bedroom and help herself to the paint. Okay it was bad but we quickly cleaned up and all was well. Later on that night while I was returning my clothes to their places in the closet I heard Olivia quietly playing in her room.......a little too quietly. I decided to take a peak to see what the little angel was up to. I walked in just in time to stop her from eating a gallon of painters putty. It was all over her hands, her floor (thank goodness wood floor), 1/2 her toys and hair. She looked at me and giggled. I couldn't get mad because, well frankly it's my own fault I should've learned my lesson after the paint incident early that day. I started laughing and grabbed my camera. She was trying to spread it all over her room so I only got a few shots and they don't capture the full mess of it all but I do believe I have a very curious little toddler on my hands.

HAPPY 2008!

Well it seems like 2007 went by so fast. A lot of really great things happened this year and I am looking forward to many more exciting things in 2008. For New Years Eve we went up to Wyoming to visit my Aunt Shannon. Her husband is the Manager at Little America up there. He got us a great room and it was so much fun seeing their new home and hotel. Olivia had tons of fun playing with her cousin Jackson. She calls him Ja she loves to follow him around. Lately everytime we take her picture she says "CHEESE" instead of smiling. Hence the funny look on her face in this picture. She actually thought she was going to stay up until midnight, and almost made it but by 11:30 I was tired so I made her go to sleep.

Olivia's suitcase is packed and she's ready to go to Little America!!!
