Olivia's New Baby

Olivia received twins Christmas morning. She also got another baby from one of her cousins (sorry can't remember which one). She loves her as well. We havn't thought of names yet so we just call them all beebie.

Nativity

This year at Amy's the kids (and some adults) acted out the nativity story while Grandpa Turman narrated. It was really cute and fun to see all the kids in the costumes. Olivia would have participated but she was really busy playing with cousin Macey's toys.

Fun At Grandma Higby's

Olivia always loves going to Grandma Higby's. Grandma & Grandpa gave her a piano. She was so excited she couldn't even wait for it to be unwrapped to start jammin'.

Merry Christmas!!!

Well Christmas came and went so fast again this year. We had a great Christmas as usual. Olivia was spoiled she is still discovering new toys she didn't see on Christmas day. We had my parents and Cody's parents over for breakfast it was really nice. After a long nap we headed to grandma Higby's for more food and fun then to Amy's for even more food. It was a great day and so much fun to watch Olivia get excited about her presents. Her favorite present this year was her "beebies" (babies). She got twins that came with their own stroller, playpen, and swing. The first thing she says when she wakes up now is, "Beebies!!" It's so cute to watch her play mommy and push the stroller into the walls.

A shout out to the dogs

I can't help but notice that I have failed to mention our two furry friends, Bazil and Rowdy. It is true I do complain about them a lot. But truth is they are our family as well. Rowdy is a grumpy old man but he is loyal to the end. Bazil never runs out of energy and always knows how to get me off the couch. A few months ago my family lost our dog Pennie. She had a long happy life but we all miss her immensely. It is horrible but losing Pennie has made me appreciate Bazil and Rowdy a lot more.

Temple Square

Of all the lights we went to see this season, these were my favorite. Unfortunately we were the only Utahns unaware that there was a Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert that night. It took us awhile to find a parking spot and with the wind chill factor I think temperatures reached well below zero ( I swear I'm not exaggerating). But besides the obstacles we faced we finally were able to enjoy the lights. It had been 5 years since I had ventured down to see the lights and it was great. Olivia was infatuated with the fountain she didn't want to leave it. She just kept looking at it in wonder while saying, "Wow!"

Layton Park Lights

Another fun light adventure is always Layton Park. We go every year. Olivia liked how the lights were animals. She growled at all the dinosaurs. As you can see I was terrified.

Christmas Lights

We tried to see a lot of Christmas Lights this year. Olivia is so amazed by them. She opens her mouth wide and says, "Waz Dat?" I think every time we ventured out we chose the coldest nights possible but it was worth getting a chill. Our first adventure was going to the tree lighting cerimony at the Gateway. It was the night after Thanksgiving. We enjoyed some great piano music and even got to see local channel 5 TV royalties (Yippeee!). When they finally lighted up the big tree Olivia's eyes widened with surprise. It was a fun night, cold, but fun nonetheless. I think it will be a traditional every year.

Snowball Fight!!!

The snow was coming down like crazy. Instead of cuddling up by the fire I decided to get Olivia in her snow pants and let her play. It was so much fun and so beautiful. Olivia kept grabbing handfuls of snow and shoving it in her mouth. I couldn't stop laughing. It's amazing how the simple things become so magical when you have a 1 year old to experience it with.

My Brown Eyed Girl

Olivia has beautiful brown eyes. She can change my mood with just a look. I love the innocence you can see every time you look at her.

The Family

Yes it was getting cold. As you can see Cody is not in the mood to smile anymore. But it was a fun day and I enjoyed spending time with my family. I can't say it enough I just love my family and feel blessed to spend time with them.

Baaaaack Baaaacks!!!

Here's Olivia looking at the Ducks and Geese trying to get there attention.

Christmas is coming

I know it has been a long time since my last post, but I did worn you. We have been having so much fun getting ready for Christmas this year. I don't know who is more excited me or Olivia. We had a good time yesterday going to Layton Park and looking at the ducks. Or as Olivia would say the "baaackk, baaacckkks." We also went to check out the beautiful lights in the park as well. It is so fun to watch Olivia discover new things. There will be more pictures coming soon but I will post the few that I can today. It's hard for me to even imagine enjoying Christmas without my little girl. She makes everything so exciting for me.
